    ORIC's Colorado Recreation Regions Map

ORIC has divided Colorado into the 26 recreation regions shown on this map. Most contain one or more of the state's many destination towns. And many are enclosed by natural mountain barriers. Our experience is that a person or family planning a short trip will stay several days in one region and concentrate on the recreation opportunities in that region. If the trip is longer, it is likely to be a series of several-day stays in two or three regions. This map will allow us to group our information by region and allow you to look it up by the region(s) you want to visit.

Yellow region marker= Region marker. Click for region name and other information.

    Good Stuff Nearby

When we are honest we have to admit that surrounding states also have good things to do outdoors.

    South Dakota

    • ORIC volunteer Chris Canipe has drafted a guide to western South Dakota, mainly the Black Hills, with lots of pictures.

    • Chris has also produced the beginnings of a guide to Yellowstone National Park.
